29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(2)(ii): Any operations in their work area where hazardous chemicals are present; and, Employee information and training. Employers shall provide employees with effective information and training on any operations in their work area where hazardous chemicals are present; and the location and availability of the written hazard communication program, including the required list(s) of hazardous chemicals, and safety data sheets required by this section. Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: (a) A and A Quality Appliance, Inc. at 321 W 84th Ave., Thornton, CO 80260: On and around February 22, 2021, the employer did not ensure that employees were provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment. Employees did not know the hazards of the chemicals in their work areas or the details of the program, including labelling and safety data sheet requirements. This condition exposed employees to chemical hazards, including but not limited to Goo Gone and vehicle exhaust containing carbon monoxide. A and A Quality Appliance, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of the same or substantially similar condition of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1) which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 1442257, Citation 1 Item 1 Group Letter b issued on November 21, 2019 and became Final Order on December 17, 2019 with respect to a workplace located at 321 W 84th Ave., Thornton, CO 80260.
