Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.178(p)(1):If at any time a powered industrial truck is found to be in need of repair, defective, or in any way unsafe, the truck shall be taken out of service until it has been restored to safe operating condition. a. On or about February 4, 2021, and at times prior, powered industrial equipment was found to be in need of repair and was not taken out of service until the equipment was restored to a safe operating condition. The most recently occurred in the Upper Cooler area of the warehouse, a Crown powered industrial pallet jack (Serial Number: GA218273, Model Number: PE4000-80, Equipment Number: 86) was in operation that had been found to be in need of repair. The forklift was found to have an abrasion on the power cables exposing internal wires but was not taken out of service. The Sygma Network, Inc was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1204456, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on March 27, 2017 with respect to a workplace located at 510 International Park, Newman, GA 30265.
