Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13):"Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. The employer does not protect each employee from the hazard of falling by the use of fall protection systems. The most recently occurred on or about January 21, 2021, on the job site located at 4120 Tarkton Sq. S, Building 3, Groveport, Ohio, 43125. The employer failed to ensure that four employees who were performing framing work from the roof of an apartment complex being built were protected from fall hazards while framing in the roof and outer structures of the building, thereby exposing them to an approximately twenty-eight foot fall hazard. Armando Medina was previously cited for Repeat-Serious violations of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in inspection numbers: 1) 1441177, Citation 2 - Item 1, Issued on 12/06/2019. 2) 1354141, Citation 1 - Item 1, Issued on 11/09/2018. 3) 1245111, Citation 1 - Item 1, Issued on 09/05/2017. 4) 1166469, Citation 1- Item 1a, Issued on 08/26/2016.
