29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Except as otherwise provided in paragraph (b) of this section, each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs, with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system, or on roofs 50-feet (15.25 m) or less in width by the use of a safety monitoring system: a) Job site, 870 Riversea Road, Pittsburgh, PA: On or about January 9, 2020, during roofing activities, the employer did not ensure that an employee on a low pitched roof used appropriate fall protection systems/devices while identifying a location to perform crane signal operations from. The employer allowed the employee to do this without any form of fall protection in use, exposing the employee to a fall hazard of up to at least approximately 30 feet. Centimark Corporation was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1271385, citation number 2, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on February 8, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 428 Tolland Turnpike, Manchester, Connecticut.
