Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. The employer does not protect each employee from the hazard of falling by the use of fall protection systems. This most recently occurred on December 11, 2019 on the job site located at 2815 Summerland Loop, Delaware Ohio 43015. The employer failed to ensure that three employees who were performing sheathing work from the 2nd story floor of a new build residential home were protected from fall hazards while sheathing the floor, thereby exposing them to an approximately 12 foot 10 inch fall hazard. Cabrera Construction was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13) which contained inspection numbers: 1) 1385371, Citation 2 - Item 1, Issued on 06/24/2019 2) 1354471, Citation 2 - Item 3, Issued on 01/07/2019 3) 1259143, Citation 1 - Item 1, Issued on 08/30/2017
