29 CFR 1915.77(c): When employees are working aloft, or elsewhere at elevations more than 5 feet above a solid surface, the employer did not provide either scaffolds or a sloping ladder, meeting the requirements of this subpart, to afford safe footing, and the employees were not protected by safety belts and lifelines meeting the requirements of 1915.159 and 1915.160: a) CVN -73: On or about 08/19/2019, employees tasked with inspecting voids such as but not limited to void number 8-54-5-V were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 20 feet in height to the ground below while traversing through voids without fall protection. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
