29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): a. On or about August 15, 2019, at the above addressed jobsite, employees performing carpentry operations next to window openings on the second floor, eleven (11) feet six (6) inches above the ground, were not protected from falling, thereby exposing employees to fall hazards. b. On or about August 15, 2019, at the above addressed jobsite, employees performing carpentry operations on the second floor were exposed to a fall of eleven (11) feet six (6) inches above the ground created by the presence of unguarded floor openings. c. On or about August 15, 2019, at the above addressed jobsite, employees performing carpentry operations on the third floor were exposed to a fall of twenty-three (23) feet four (4) inches above the ground created by the presence of unguarded wall openings. Frame & Finish Carpenters, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1310815, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on July 19, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 231 West Scott Street, Chicago, IL 60610.
