29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: On or about April 10, 2019, the employer failed to ensure that the Kingston lathe (W0221), which was being used in the group 3 area, was effectively guarded. The horizontal lathe did not have a chuck guard in place. NORDSON XALOY INCORPORATED WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD OR ITS EQUIVELENT STANDARD 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1) WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION 1363167, CITATION 1, ITEM 1 AND WAS AFFIRMED AS A FINAL ORDER ON JANUARY 7, 2019, WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 375 VICTORIA ROAD AUSTINTOWN, OHIO 44515.
