Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.36(g)(2): Exit accesses were not at least 28 inches (71.1 cm) wide at all points: (b) Yellow Belt - The exit access through the doorway opening between the Yellow Bristol and the building extension at the Yellow Bristol's south end had a width of 16 inches from the door jams to the portable gravity roller conveyor on the east and west sides of this conveyor, restricting the ability of employees to exit in an emergency and thereby exposing employees to a fire hazard, on or about March 7, 2019. (d) Yellow Belt - A 31-inch high metal frame rack, permanently installed along the main building's west wall just south of the Air Bristol, for storing portable gravity roller conveyors, reduced the exit access width to 21.5 inches, restricting the ability of employees to exit in an emergency and thereby exposing employees to a fire hazard, on or about March 7, 2019. (f) Red Belt - The exit access through the cased opening between the main building and the Red Bristol had a width 21.25 inches from the conveyor to the opening's casing on the west side, restricting the ability of employees to exit in an emergency and thereby exposing employees to a fire hazard, on or about March 7, 2019. (g) Red Bristol - The guarding around the red belt conveyor's power transmission apparatus reduced the exit access width to 21.5 inches for a travel distance of 7 feet 4.75 inches by loading door 60 and to a width of 25 inches for a travel distance of 7 feet 4.75 inches by loading door 63, restricting the ability of employees to exit in an emergency and thereby exposing employees to a fire hazard, on or about March 7, 2019.
