Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation shall be protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with paragraph (b) or (c) of this section except when: a. Located at Lot 5 of the at the Crossings at Rocky Fork subdivision in Westerville, Ohio: On or about November 14, 2018, two employees were exposed to a cave-in hazard while installing a de-watering pipe in an approximately twelve foot deep excavated trench at Structure 23 at the site. The employer did not ensure that the slope began at the furthest edge of an undercut section on the north side of the trench.
