29 CFR 1926.651(k)(1): Daily inspections of excavations, the adjacent areas, and protective systems were not made by a competent person for evidence of a situation that could have resulted in possible cave-ins, indications of failure of protective systems (a) 3rd Ave and Main St. Lava Hot Springs, ID: On or about October 31, 2018 and at times prior, employees were installing water pipe in an approximately 6.5 ft. deep trench. Note: Abatement certification and documentation is required for this item. Knife River Corporation dba Knife River was previously cited at Knife River Corporation dba Knife River, for a SERIOUS violation of this occupational safety and health standard, 29 CFR 1926.651(k)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1242651, citation number 2, item number 2a, and was affirmed as a final order on August 24, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at 204 Oregon St., Kellogg, ID 83837.
