29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): The employer did not ensure each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels, was protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system: a) Worksite, W.T. Clarke High School, Roof: Employees were doing roofing installation work on a flat roof with a warning line system. Employees were exposed to fall hazards in that unprotected sides and edges were not protected by a combination of a warning line system and safety monitoring system or a safety monitoring system alone or any other complete system of fall protection; on or about 5/15/18. Marfi Contracting Corp. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1085162, citation number 2, item number 1 issued on 2/9/16 and was affirmed as a final order on 1/27/17, with respect to a workplace located at 300 Charles Street in Lindenhurst, NY. Note: In addition to abatement certification the employer is required to submit abatement documentation for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19.
