29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system or personal fall arrest systems: 49 Beaumont Street, Canton, MA Employees were exposed to falls while engaged in residential construction. Instance a) On July 17, 2018, an employee fell from the second floor when he stepped on a piece of plywood that was not fully secured. Instance b) A window, from where an employee was throwing discarded lumber to the ground, was not provided with a top rail, exposing employees to falls. Instance c) Employees engaged in framing the second floor were exposed to falls from open sides of the second floor. W&U Framing Specialists, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1268506, citation number 1, item number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on January 3, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 26 Prospect Street, Melrose, MA 02176.
