Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i): Procedures were not developed, documented and utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees were engaged in activities covered by this section: a) Old Bridge Chemical, Inc./Old Bridge, NJ -Throughout the Plant: The employer did not develop and implement machine specific energy control procedures where employees were required to perform servicing and maintenance on equipment used on site such as, but not limited to reactors and digesters. The employees were exposed to hazardous energy stored within the system, including: electrical, mechanical, chemical, and thermal. Condition noted on or about June 5, 2018. The Old Bridge Chemical, Inc., was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1249935, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on 12/14/2017, with respect to a workplace located at 554 Waterworks Road, Old Bridge, NJ 08857.
