Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a. The Okuma and Mazak milling machines in the tool room were operated with the guard door interlocks removed. b. In the aluminum building, the trim press at the die cast machine #6 work center, was operated with the back barrier guard open. (An attached tag on the guard stated "repair required 6-15-17".) Continental Casting, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 956067, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on 3/31/2014, with respect to a workplace located at 801 2nd St., Monroe City, MO 63456. Abatement documentation is required for these violations.
