Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.305(b)(1)(ii): Unused openings in boxes, cabinets, or fittings were not effectively closed. (a) M/V Matanuska - Car Deck - On or about February 2nd, 2018 and at times prior thereto, the employees were exposed to electrical hazards that would result in cardiac arrest, severe burns and even death from contact with live conductors through the unused openings on General Electric (GE) circuit breaker enclosures TE 100R MOD 9 Type 3R. Vigor was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.305(b)(1)(ii), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1138205, citation number 1, item number 4a and was affirmed as a final order on 05/27/2016, with respect to a workplace located at Vigor Alaska, LLC.
