29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: On or about November 2, 2017: a. In the grinding area where employees were exposed to struck-by and caught-by hazards while using End Grinder #1033 without a guard to protect employees from the rotating grinding disk. b. In the grinding area where employees were exposed to struck-by and caught-by hazards while using End Grinder #1034 without a guard to protect employees from the rotating grinding disk. c. In the grinding area where employees were exposed to struck-by and caught-by hazards while using End Grinder #1035 without a guard to protect employees from the rotating part holder. d. In the grinding area where employees were exposed to struck-by and caught-by hazards while using End Grinder #1036 without a guard to protect employees from the rotating part holder. MW Industries, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 962628, citation number 1 item number 1a and was affirmed as a final order on 07/17/2014, with a final abatement date of 05/15/2014, with respect to a workplace located at 2400 Farrell, Houston, TX 75073.
