29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i): The employer did not provide training to ensure that the purpose and function of the energy control program are understood by employees and that the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage, and removal of the energy controls are acquired by employees. PK 4.0 Packing Line, Hayssen Vertical Form Fill & Seal Machine (Model: CMB 12-19 HR, SN: U84393). On or about September 25, 2017, employee(s) who performed servicing and maintenance tasks such as cleaning and changing knife blades on the Hayssen machine were exposed to amputation and laceration hazards. The employer did not ensure that lockout/tagout training was provided to all authorized and affected employees who were assigned such tasks, to ensure that the purpose and function of the energy control program were understood by employees and that the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage and removal of the energy controls were acquired by employees. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d). Sweet Specialty Solutions, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 1188748, Citation Number 1, Item Number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on April 19, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at 1105 101st Street, Lemont, Illinois.
