29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1)(i): The employer did not ensure that each powered industrial truck operator is competent to operate a powered industrial truck safely, as demonstrated by the successful completion of the training and evaluation specified in this paragraph (l): a) Establishment- On or about September 20, 2017, employees were exposed to struck by hazards while in the area where fork trucks operated by operators who have not had their training and competence evaluated. The employer, Rothe Welding, Inc.was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (29 CFR 1910.178(l)), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 190857, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on 7/24/2014, with respect to a workplace located at 1455 Route 212, Saugerties, NY 12477.
