Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a hazard of being run over by the truck: a) Yard - Employees were transported around the yard in trucks that do not have benches or seats for them to ride on or the benches were destroyed to the point that they did not provide a safe riding seat, exposing the employee(s) to a serious hazard. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to follow the direction of the safety director and install benches on all vehicles used to transport employees.
