29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2): The employer did not instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to his/her environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury: At CST Project #1842: On or about January 23, 2017, and at times prior thereto, employees were exposed to struck-by and caught-in hazards associated with trenching and excavation work, while installing utility lines without being trained on hazard recognition. Step It Up Construction, was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2), which was contained in OSHA Inspection number 977940 citation number 01 Item 01 and was affirmed as a final order on 11/25/2014, with respect to a workplace located at 1270 N Loop 1604 San Antonio, Texas 78258.
