29 CFR 1926.651(j)(2): Protection was not provided by placing and keeping excavated or other materials or equipment at least 2 feet (.61m) from the edge of excavations, or by the use of retaining devices that were sufficient to prevent materials or equipment from falling or rolling into excavations, or by a combination of both if necessary: The employer is failing to protect employees from struck-by and engulfment hazards associated with trenching. This was most recently documented on or about January, 20, 2017 at the jobsite located at or near Lot 27 on North Baltimore Ave. in Kansas City, Missouri. The employer did not protect employees from struck-by and engulfment hazards by placing or keeping excavated or other materials at least 2 feet from the edge of the excavation.
