29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface having an unprotected side or edge which was six or more feet (1.8m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. (a) Employees conducting roof sheathing activities on a roof with a 6:12 pitch were not protected from falling to the lower level, exposing employees to a fall hazard of approximately 11 feet. The Hemphill Construction Company, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 977700, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on July 31, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 190 Geneva Road, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.
