Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.23(c)(1): Open-sided floors and/or platforms four feet or more above adjacent floor or ground level were not guarded with standard railings (or equivalent) and toeboards: On or about 08/05/16, in the roof of the generator room, employees were using a step ladder in close proximity of an open side floor, approximately 13 ft above the ground level, that was not equipped with a guardrail system or any other means of fall protection. PLEASE NOTE: DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION. The Food Center Corporation was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.23(c)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 965656, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on 10/14/2014, with respect to a workplace located at 26 & 27 Frydenhoj, St Thomas, VI 00802.
