Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) On or about 6/7/2016, Back Interior Shop Area: An alligator shear was not properly guarded, the existing guard was not adjusted so that it was effective. b) On or about 6/7/2016, Back Interior Shop Area: A Rebar shear was not adequately guarded, the two hand controls were being operated with one hand. Abatement certification is required for these items. Binghamton Precast & Supply Corp. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 981961, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on 7/23/2014, with respect to a workplace located at 18 Phelps Street, Binghamton, NY.
