Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a steel storage rack system that was not anchored to the floor. This exposed employees to struck-by, crushed-by and/or caught-in hazards. On or about March 9, 2016, and times prior thereto, the employer did not ensure the storage rack system colums, used to store inventory were not bolted to the floor to prevent the storage rack system from shifting and/or collapsing. Harbor Freight Tools was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard OSH Act of 1970 Section 5(a)(1), General Duty Clause, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 952453, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on February 18, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 2360 N. Main Street, Gainesville, FL 32601.
