Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2): The employer shall instruct each employee in the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions and the regulations applicable to his work environment to control or eliminate any hazards or other exposure to illness or injury, in that: a) 2701 Frederick Road, Opelika, AL; On or about January 14, 2016; employees entered and worked in a trench measuring eight to ten feet deep that was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system. Employees had not been provided effective information and training on recognizing and avoiding cave-in hazards on the work site. D & J Enterprises, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.21(b)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1019817 citation number 1 item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on October 14, 2015, with respect to a workplace located at Opelika, AL.
