29 CFR 1910.272(j)(1): The employer did not develop and implement a written housekeeping program that established the frequency and the method(s) determined best to reduce accumulations of fugitive grain dust on ledges, floors, equipment, and other exposed surfaces. Employees engaged in grain handling activities were exposed to fire and explosion hazards in that the housekeeping program did not determine a frequency for housekeeping activities sufficient to reduce fugitive grain dust accumulations, and the housekeeping methods developed in the program were not fully implemented, resulting in: a) Grain dust measuring to approximately 1 inch in depth on the ledges and equipment in the House A boot pit. b) Dust accumulations identified as greater than 1/8th of an inch on the A house boot pit floor did not result in immediate cleanup activities. The Scoular Company was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.272(j)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314316563, citation number 01, item number 004(a) and was affirmed as a final order on the 30th of November 2011, with respect to a workplace located at 510 Elm Street Anaconda, MT 59711.
