29 CFR 1910.124(h)(4): For employees who work with chromic acid, periodic examinations of their exposed body parts, especially their nostrils, must be provided: The employer does not protect each employee during chromic acid work by providing periodic examinations of their exposed body parts, especially their nostrils. On or about June 16, 2015, in the facility, employees required to work with chromic acid (chromate conversion coatings) at the Black Line were not provided with periodic examinations of their exposed body parts, especially their nostrils. To abate this hazard in the future the employer must provide periodic examinations for employees who work with chromic acid. The periodic examinations must include examination of exposed body parts and nostrils. Electronic Plating Company was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard which was contained in OSHA inspection number #315157800 , citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on December 6, 2011, with respect to a workplace located at 1821 S. 54th Ave., Cicero, IL. 60804.
