Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to burn from contact with steam: Recaust Plant, Outdoors, Westside - Steam trace lines were exhausting at an elevation that exposed employees to potential thermal burns. NOTE: Feasible abatement methods include installing steam traps and exhausting steam to a safe location. Your company was previously cited for violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standand which was contained in OSHA inspection no. 18065839, Citation #1 item 4, issued on 07/27/88.
