Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there is a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, are not protected by protective helmets: A. The employer does not ensure employees are protected from head injuries while working below employees conducting roofing work above. The violation was most recently observed at 3556 Oakway Dr., Toledo, Ohio, where employees were exposed to potential impact injuries caused from falling material and/or equipment. To abate this hazard the employer must ensure employees exposed to overhead hazards are provided with and utilize an adequate form of head protection. Julio Galindo DBA Julio Galindo was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.100(a) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 955319, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on April 3, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at Westerville, Ohio.
