29 CFR 1910.212(a)(2): Machine guarding. General requirements for machine guards. Guards shall be affixed to the machine where possible and secured elsewhere if for any reason attachment to the machine is not possible. The guard shall be such that it does not offer an accident hazard in itself. Ball Corporation, 2690 Charter Street, Columbus Ohio workplace: On or about December 1, 2014, in the Weld department, at the following locations machine guarding was secure and affixed properly: a. at the Line 1 Stacker; a barrier guard was not secure and properly affixed. Allen head screws were missing and/or loose. b. at the Line 1 Slitter adjacent to the Slitter door interlock: the feeder barrier guard housing was not secure and affixed. An allen head screw was missing.
