Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) The hazard was elevating employees in a "display box" which was not secured to the fork truck carriage or forks. Two employees fell at least 12 feet when taking inventory in Zone 2 between aisles E and F on or about 1/29/88. ANSI/ASME B56.1-1983, Safety Standards for Low Lift to High Lift Trucks Section 4.17 (Elevating Personnel) lists acceptable abatement methods.
