Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to an increased risk of developing CTD from tasks that they were performing and engineering and administrative controls were not implemented: The second of three employees in department 19, group 32, job 15, shift 01, RR DOOR PAD SUB ASSEMBL. who repeatedly performs tasks which require various ergonomic stresses such as, but not limited to, pinch grip, slight ulnar deviation of wrist and twist of the wrist, and repetitiveness which are likely to result in cumulative trauma disorders. On or about 2-14-90. Among other methods, some feasible and acceptable methods to correct this hazard are: 1) Design tool to hold snaps while they are secured to the pad. The tool handle should be designed to allow neutral wrist position.
