Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 043 Hazard: FALLING
Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:On or About 06/06/11 Location:Building 4 Condition:Safe work practices including, but not limited to, moving the platform horizontally when elevated, and maintaining footing on the floor of the platform were not developed and/or implemented for employees exposed to falls as great as approximately 30 feet while cleaning walls from job-made work platforms. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard, develop and implement safety-related work practices in accordance with the most recent version of American National Standards Institute (ANSI) B56.1-2009, "Safety Standard for Low Lift and High Lift Trucks" section 7.37 "Platforms: Elevating." Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
