29 CFR 1910.305(a)(2)(x): Flexible cords and cables were not protected from accidental damage, as might be caused, for example, by sharp corners, projections, and doorways or other pinch points: On or about October 08, 2014, and at times prior thereto, the employer did not ensure that flexible cords and cables were protected from accidental damage, exposing employees to the hazards electrical shock. a. In the Foundry Department next to furnace C & D, the floor fan's cord was run between a metal floor cover and the concrete floor exposing it to a pinch point. b. In the AmStock Area, the floor fan's cord was run under a pallet and metal guard frame that was cut and damaged in several areas along the cord. c. In the Shipping Department, the Dewalt circular saw's cord was cut and damaged in several areas along the cord. d. In the Machine Shop, the Black & Decker HD 6 inch Grinders cord was damaged in several areas along the cord and had been repaired with electrical tape. e. In the Heat Treat Department the job made cooler's cord was run through a hole in the wall exposing it to sharp edges of the sheet metal.
