29 CFR 1910.157(e)(3): The date of the annual maintenance check of portable fire extinguishers was not recorded: ALON USA, LP, 200 Refinery Road, Big Spring, TX. The employer does not ensure annual maintenance of fire extinguishers are properly recorded. This violation was observed on or about April 15, 2009 in the following instances: a) Fire extinguishers found in the SRU #1 not recorded as having had an annual maintenance check. b) Fire extinguishers found in the SRU #2 not recorded as having had an annual maintenance check. c) Fire extinguishers found in the Alkylation Unit not recorded as having had an annual maintenance check. d) Fire extinguishers found in the SRU #1 not recorded as having had an annual maintenance check. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that annual maintenance records of portable fire extinguishers are maintained.rs
