29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A): Flexible cords and/or cables were used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure. a) On or about May 12, 2016, in Building 155, Layout Department, an extension cord ran across the wall to a 2-plug receptacle energizing an industrial box fan in lieu of permanent wiring exposing employees to electrical shock and fire hazards. b) On or about May 12, 2016, in Building 155, Hydro Department, a yellow extension cord ran across a hoist to energize a fluorescent tube light in lieu of permanent wiring exposing employees to electrical shock and fire hazards. c) On or about June 1, 2016, in Building 197, Carbon Filter Department, two black extension cords were plugged into each other and ran along the wall to energize a stretch wrap machine in lieu of permanent wiring exposing employees to electrical shock and fire hazards.
