Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 021 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use: a) Production Area; On or about August 22, 2023, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to chemical hazards, in that the saline bottles to flush the eyes in the production area are not kept clean and free of debris, causing additional hazards to the eyes of employees if used. b) Outside Production Area and Chemistry Lab; On or about August 22, 2023, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to chemical hazards, in that the portable eye wash station to flush the eyes is not kept clean and free of debris, causing additional hazards to the eyes of employees if used. c) Chemistry Lab; On or about August 22, 2023, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to chemical hazards, in that the employer has not provided employees a mean to flush their eyes and body when exposed to corrosive chemicals, such as but not limited to, Phosphoric and Sulfuric Acid.
