Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 021 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employer did not provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new chemical hazard the employees have not previously been trained about was introduced into their work area. The employer is failing to protect employees from chemical hazards. This condition was most recently observed on or about 10/26/2021 when the employer failed to provide hazard communication training to employees. Employees were exposed to chemicals, including, but not limited to: a) Liquid propane: Employees operated propane powered forklifts in the facility. Employees changed liquid propane tanks on a regular basis. Employees were not aware of the hazards associated with exposure to liquid propane. b) Paper Testing Solution, 4282: Employees use product to test certain batches of paper prior to processing.
