Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 019B Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.303(g)(1): Sufficient access and working space was not provided and maintained about all electric equipment (operating at 600 volts, nominal, or less to ground) to permit ready and safe operation and maintenance of such equipment. a) This violation was observed on or about April 17, 2023, where a 480-volt panel was blocked by a miller welder in the shop. The panel is identified by W-02 and is located along the west wall of facility, north of plasma table. b) This violation was observed on or about April 17, 2023, where a 480-volt panel was blocked by tool storage bens in the shop. The panel is located on the west wall of shop, north of the paint booth. c) This violation was observed on or about April 17, 2023, where (2) switch boxes was blocked by (2) miller welders in the shop. The boxes are on the west wall of the shop and identified as 2-ton and W-01. d) This violation was observed on or about April 17, 2023, where (3) 480-volt panels were blocked by (2) miller welders in the shop. The panels are located on the west wall of the shop, north of the paint booth. e) This violation was observed on or about April 17, 2023, where (2) 480-volt panels were blocked by (2) large metal lock boxes. The panels are located on the west wall and identifies as W-54 and W-08. f) This violation was observed on or about April 24, 2023, where multiple 240-volt boxes were blocked by a variety of items. The boxes are located on the maintenance shop. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, within (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation describing the steps taken to ensure sufficient access and working is provided and maintained about all electric equipment operating at 600 volts, nominal, or less to ground.
