29 CFR 1910.305(e)(1): Cabinets, cutout boxes, fittings, boxes, and panelboard enclosures in damp or wet locations were not installed to prevent moisture or wa ter from entering and accumulating within the enclosures: The employer does not insure that a transformer is equipped with attachments for damp or wet locations when they are used in such locations. On or about 05/10/10, an ACME 30 KVA tran sformer enclosure was observed that is not approved for wet or damp locations. T he enclosure did not have fittings (wings) attached to prevent rain water from e ntering. This transformer is located in standing water on the outside of buildin g 81-AS-810. The condition is an electrical hazard to employees accessing the bu ilding. Pursuant to 29 C. F. R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the da te of this citation, the employer must submit documentation that it is in compli ance with the standard and employees are not exposed to this electrical hazard. One method of abatement among others is to attach rain shields (wings) to the tr ansformer and separate it from standing water.
