29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A): Flexible cords and/or cables were used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure: The employer does not ensure that extension cords (flex wiring) are not used as a substitute for fixed wiring. a) This violation was observed on or about May 30, 2019, in the maintenance shop, extension cords were observed zip tied to beams and other fixtures, exposing employees to electrical hazards. b) This violation was observed on or about May 30, 2019, in the carpenter shop, an extension cord was observed tied around the structure and behind walls, exposing employees to electrical hazards. c) This violation was observed on or about May 30, 2019, in the Go-cart maintenance area, extension cords were observed zip tied to beams and other fixtures, exposing employees to electrical hazards. d) This violation was observed on or about May 30, 2019, at the Prairie Schooner, extension cords were observed zip tied to beams and other fixtures, exposing employees to electrical hazards. e) This violation was observed on or about May 31, 2019, at multiple stands at Fort Frontier, extension cords were observed zip tied to beams and other fixtures, exposing employees to electrical hazards. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this citation, the employer must submit documentation describing the steps taken to ensure that all flexible cords and/or cables are not used as a substitute for fixed wiring.
