Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:On or About 02/07/13 Location:Finishing Department Zone 9 Condition:The emergency eyewash, consisting of two small bottles, could not provide 15 minutes of continuous flushing while employees were exposed to Reagent Solution 44, a corrosive. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct these hazards is to comply with the American National Standard for Emergency Eyewash and Shower Equipment, ANSI Z358-2009.
