29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: a) Throughout the facility, on or about 1/14/16: Training and information on the hazards of chemical hazards was not provided for employees including, but not limited to, painters working with flammable lacquers and thinners; employees sand blasting rail car parts with silica containing abrasive blasting agent; laborers lowering parts by hoist into dip tanks containing corrosive cleaning products and employees exposed to heavy metals during welding and torch cutting operations. Abatement documentation must be submitted for this item.
