Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 016A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.215(a)(4): Work rest(s) on grinding machinery were not adjusted closely to the wheel with a maximum opening of one eighth inch: The employer is failing to protect employees from struck-by hazards while engaged in grinding activities. This was most recently documented on or about February 7, 2017 at the Airosol Company, Inc., located at 1206 Illinois Street in Neodesha, Kansas. The company failed to ensure that the distance from the abrasive wheel periphery to the work rest of the Tri Star 10" bench grinder Model #BG-10 located in the Maintenance Shop was found to be approximately 3/8 inch. 29 CFR 1903.19(c)(1) requires certification that the abatement of the above violation is complete.
