29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(2): The employer did not provide employees with effective information on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new chemical hazard the employees have not previously been trained about was introduced into their work area. Employees were not informed of the following: the requirements of this section; any operations in their work area where hazardous chemicals are present; and, the location and availability of the written hazard communication program, including the required list(s) of hazardous chemicals, and safety data sheets as required by this section. The employer is failing to ensure that employees are informed of hazards in their workplace. The condition was most recently observed on or about November 2nd, 2018 at the facility located at 137 Hale Library, Manhattan, KS 66506. The employer did not have a list of hazardous chemicals and where they were being used or were located on site. Hazardous chemicals used at the jobsite include but are not limited to: asbestos containing floor tiles (between 6-20% chrysotile), mastic remover and solvents.
