29 CFR 1910.252(b)(2)(iii): Workers and other persons adjacent to the welding area were not protected from the rays by noncombustible or flameproof screens or shields: Production floor: On or about May 1, 2024, and at times prior thereto, employees were not protected in the welding area by noncombustible or flameproof screens or shields when conducting welding operations. 1) At robot welder #5, a section of the welding screen was missing and the welding screen did not extend to the bottom of the floor. 2) At robot welder #4, the welding screen was torn and damaged. 3) At the manual welding booth, a welding apron was used which did not cover the whole area to protect employees instead of a welding screen.
