29 CFR 1910.217(c)(3)(iii)(e): Safety distance(s)(Ds) from the presence sensing field to the point of operation of mechanical power press(es) were not greater than the distance determined by the formula specified at 29 CFR 1910.217(c)(3)(iii)(E)(e): On or about March 17, 2015, in the EPTD and Stamtec Press Areas of Building #1, presence sensing devices (light curtains) installed on the mechanical power presses were not located at the safety distance from the point of operation which exposed employees to crush-by and caught-between hazards: a) Stamtec Press #34 (Model G2-200/Serial S70683) safe distance was 22.86 inches; distance from the sensing curtain to the first pinch point was 14.25 inches. b) Stamtec Press #58 (Model G1-160/Serial S70703) safe distance was 12.78 inches; distance from the sensing curtain to the first pinch point was 12.75 inches.
