Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:06/04/09 Location:Warehouse Building, Customer Pick-up Area Condition:Employees work on and under a storage rack with bent and damaged support legs that was used to store pallets of cardboard and other various materials. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct the hazard is to replace the damaged storage rack legs and/or storage rack systems, and develop and implement a maintenance program that provides for inspection, maintenance and repair of the storage rack systems. Abatement documentation (photographs, receipts, copies of programs, training certification, etc.) is required for this item.
